SATURDAY, MARCH 16, 2019 SHOP TOUR and SAWDUST SESSION, 10AM - NOON We had a very well-attended shop tour at the home shop of Jim Fleming. The usual refreshments were complemented with lemons from Jessica's trees for all comers. Paul Mueller demonstrated techniques for cutting, carving and finishing decorative bandsaw boxes. Paul's creativity is inspiring. In fact, several attendees were inspired to volunteer to host shop tours. Any other interested hosts or Sawdust Volunteers like Paul should contact Jim at jameshfleming@gmailcom. At our shop tour on Saturday at Jim Fleming's house, Paul Mueller demonstrated the art of making band saw boxes. His technique is drawn from Michael Cullen. If you saw the demonstration and want to make band saw boxes, such as the one below, click on the first two video links. If you want to know more about Michael Cullen, click on the third link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MSOcU6VrgY https://www.finewoodworking.com/2016/06/07/episode-1-introduction-make-beautiful-bandsawn-boxes http://michaelcullendesign.com/ Click on images to enlarge |
